The first night we slept in a bivouac, on the red dunes of Merzuga, after a wonderful 2 hours trek with camels, that was organised by Abderrhamane Eljakani, the 26 years old guide we met, just before arriving to Erfoud, coming from the Dades gorge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abdul, organised everything perfect. For 500 dirhams per person, we had an unforgettable camel trek and an overnight in the dunes, with chicken tazin for dinner and tuareg drums for amusement. And a lot of hearty conversation under the stars, as well. Abdul took us to a very good berber market as well and after that we where sorry to salute him and hit the road again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The off road route of 240 km., actually, from Merzuga to Tagounite, following the very precise waypoints of \u201cSahara Overland\u201d book by Chris Scott. In the middle of the route, at km 124 we found a splendid Auberge, named Marabout. In the middle of nowhere, two gentle berber youngsters, Hamid and Hassan accepted us, offered good coffee and let us overnight nearby, in a lonely place between two dunes. What a night! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the Sahara moon, with rigatoni for dinner in a full loneliness. And imagine this is a place that last year, the rally Dakar passed from and only experienced 4&#215;4 adventurers approach.
