Day 8 | 02.05.2007 | Last day in Europe

Last night we slept at a huge camping “Roquetas” at the outskirts of Almeria, after we tried for more than one hour a place to sleep at the brand new real eatate “paradises” of Andalucia.

This morning we started driving at the coastal road to Malaga that proved to be a pain in the ass thanks to the continuous rain, the traffic and some jams caused by minor accidents.

At Malaga we headed to the first Carrefour for shopping therapy. We bought supplies for 20 days at least, given that tomorrow we enter Africa. After a short lunch at Burger King we took the coastal highway to Marbella and Algeciras that proved problematic as well. So after Marbella – the reknown in Europe “golfer’s paradise” we took the AP-7 motorway to Algeciras.

Given that we had never been before at Gibraltar, we took the road to the famous rock that is a British colony so far, we passed the customs and entered in an unbelievable English parenthesis… Vula liked it a lot, though, me either and this is the spot for our closing shooting for the TV program “on wheels”, we work for.

As soon as it got dark, we returned to the Spanish side and seeking for a proper room we found one for 55 euros at the pretty clean “Hostal Ispael” at the outskirts of La Linea. Tomorrow, after the TV shootings we will go to Algeciras to take the boat for Ceuta-Morocco. The president of the Greek Community in Morocco, is waiting for us at Rabat…_A.Temperidis
